Van der Sar protege ponders United future

Atletico Madrid keeper David De Gea knows he could follow in the footsteps of his hero Edwin van der Sar at United. Ando's season is beginning

Anderson To Reignite United’s Title Challenge

His performance last night in particular was a sign of what Anderson is capable of when he puts his mind to it. Comfortably the best player on the pitch, he controlled the midfield and orchestrated much of United’s good forward play. He scored the vital equaliser that ensured United topped their Champions’ League group and avoided European giants like Barcelona and Real Madrid in the first knock out stage, and would have had a couple of assists to his name had Dimitar Berbatov been more clinical in front of goal.

His incisive passing through the Valencia defence to the United strikers as well as his long balls out wide to Nani and Park were exquisite, and while it’s far too early to talk of him replacing the genius of Scholes, the signs are definitely there that he has the potential to come very close. Teen kills self by jumping into girlfriend’s funeral pyre

MAKKAL Osai reported that a 17-year-old boy in Punjab, India, shocked onlookers by jumping into the funeral pyre of his girlfriend who had committed suicide.

The girl had apparently taken her own life after her parents refused to accept their relationship.

Bittu Singh’s skeletal remains were found when the girl’s family returned to collect her ashes the next day. Read more at thestar.com.my

... either a brave man or in denial. He's always protective since his Chelsea days. But, this is really bad. I mean, just before this game both Ronaldo and Messi scored their hat-tricks; and this is supposed to be a classic encounter, but it became a whitewash. Football, bloody hell!

The Works Ministry has put out a tender to find a "white knight" contractor to complete the stalled RM482 million Shah Alam Hospital project.

Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said the tender advertisement was put up last Friday and would close on Dec 17. "The Public Works Department is presently calling for a new tender to appoint a 'white knight' contractor through a limited tender procurement to proceed with the remainder of the abandoned project. Nightspot offers free entry to those with condoms

HEALTH counsellors have condemned a popular nightspot in Singapore for offering its patrons free entry if they come with condoms, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The club – The Butter Factory – offered patrons free entry between 10pm and midnight last Saturday if they came with condoms.

Those who forgot to bring condoms were given some by the club for free.

Counsellors warned that the move – which was publicised by the nightspot via Facebook with the theme “Got cover?” – was encouraging pre-marital sex and threatening the marriage institution. Read more at thestar.com.my
